Insulation and retrofit for homes across the UK

Keep the warmth you're already paying for inside your home.

Cold rooms, damp corners and bills that keep climbing usually come down to one thing: heat leaking out through your walls, loft and roof. We find where yours is going and fix it properly — and we'll tell you if you could get help paying for it.

What we do

Everything below is carried out by our own installers and surveyors. If your home needs something we don't offer, we'll say so rather than sell you the wrong job.

Cavity wall insulation

Fill the gap in your outer walls so heat stops escaping through the brickwork. One of the quickest wins in most UK homes — usually a day's work.

Loft insulation

Top up or lay new insulation above your ceilings to hold warmth in the rooms below. A quarter of your heat can go straight out through an under-insulated loft.

Ask about this

Solar PV installation

MCS-certified roof-mounted panels so you generate your own electricity and buy less of it. We'll tell you honestly if your roof suits it.

Ask about this
  • Internal wall insulation

Insulated boarding on the inside face of solid walls, made good and ready to decorate.

  • Room-in-roof insulation

Warm up a converted attic bedroom that never quite holds its heat.

  • Flat roof insulation

Insulate flat roofs over extensions, dormers and garages that lose heat fast.

  • Retrofit assessments

A PAS 2035 style whole-house survey that sets out what your home actually needs.

  • Cavity wall extraction

Remove failed or damp insulation from your cavities before anything new goes in.

  • EPC assessments

An accredited Energy Performance Certificate for your home, sale or tenancy.

  • Damp proofing

Trace the cause of damp and treat it, so insulation works the way it should.

Please note: we don't install external wall insulation.

Grants and funding

You may not have to pay the full cost yourself.

There are government-backed schemes that can cover some, and in certain cases all, of the cost of insulating a home. Whether you qualify depends on your property, your energy rating and your household circumstances — not on who you ask.

We'll check your details against what's currently available and give you a straight answer. If you're not eligible, we'll tell you that too, along with what the work would cost privately.

Check if you could be eligible
ECO4
Funded by the larger energy suppliers. Aimed at homes with a lower energy rating, and often linked to certain benefits or to a low household income.
GBIS
The Great British Insulation Scheme is broader. It focuses on single measures such as cavity wall or loft insulation for homes in lower council tax bands.

Scheme rules and funding levels change. Nothing on this page is a guarantee of free work — eligibility is always confirmed after a survey and a funding check.

About Warm Homes Approach

We're a family-run installer working with homes across the UK. It started with one van, a loft hatch and a neighbour who couldn't afford to heat her back bedroom — and it's still the same idea now, just with a bigger team.

Most of our work comes from people who've had us in before, or from someone down the street who did. That only happens if you turn up when you say you will, keep the house clean, and explain what you're doing in words that make sense.

We care about the paperwork because it protects you. But what we're actually here for is simpler: a house that's warm when you get home, and a bill you're not afraid to open.
